The 2017-18 campaign is almost over, so it is now the perfect time to get excited for the 2018-19 season, which brings renewed hope for fans of struggling teams and increased belief that successful sides can become invincible.
Transfer rumours whet the appetite of supporters, who look forward to seeing how the summer additions perform at their clubs – where they will wear the club’s brand new kit.
New kit launches also keep supporters interested ahead of the upcoming campaign, and also allow fans to show off their team’s new uniform before they even see the club’s players wearing it.
Even though we are still months away from the 2018-19 season, clubs have already begun launching their new kits.
Goal looks at all the new 2018-19 kits that have been officially launched so far.
Liverpool were the first Premier League club to launch their kit for the 2018-19 season, revealing their new look ahead of their Champions League semi-final with Roma. The New Balance home kit retains the popular pepper red colouring and pays tribute to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster by including the eternal flame on the neck of the shirt.
Young defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is a big fan of the new strip, which brings back the collar that had been absent from the 2017-18 jersey: “It is exciting to get the new kit and try something new on. It’s a little bit different to last year and it has kept its simplicity and added a collar. I think it’s a bit different when you walk into the ‘changies’ and you see a different kit hanging up and you are excited to put it on and see how it feels,” he said.
